Pakistan has formally launched a Healthcare Corridor between Pakistan and the United States at the Medical Tourism Summit 2026, held at King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in Lahore. Organised with Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRP) Washington DC and the National Health Chambers USA, the corridor connects the Pakistani diaspora with affordable, high-quality medical care back home — from consultation through to recovery.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayaz confirmed that Pakistan’s trained doctors and modern facilities position the country as a credible hub for medical tourism. U.S. Consul General Mr. Stetson Saunders attended as Guest of Honor, reflecting strong bilateral support for the initiative.
The corridor directly addresses the high costs and long waiting times faced by nearly ten million overseas Pakistanis, offering treatment in cardiac surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, fertility, and oncology at a fraction of US prices.
The summit received coverage across nine national publications on the day of the event, reaching readers from Lahore to Karachi.
